I command the lightning's hand

Guten Tag! Today's title comes from "Lightning's Hand" by Kansas. Just take a look at my top to see how completely fitting the title is. :)

I love lightning bolts. Not really ones, just drawn ones, like on my shirt or on a necklace. This tank top is wonderful not just because of the fabulous pattern, but also because it fits great. This skirt is always a favorite of mine. The shoes are my mom's and are the same ones from a few posts back. The necklace, my Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitar pick one, is one of my favorites.

These pictures came out much better than yesterday's.

Well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth

Hey good people of the blogosphere! Today's title comes from "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley.

So the amazing vintage clutch I posted about in my last post came in!! It's even more amazing than it looked in the pictures. The pictures of it below don't even do it justice. A million thanks to Robyn of Twitch Vintage! Seriously guys, check out her blog and store!

This shirt is my dad’s I threw it on and belted it for an easy, comfy, casual look.

Sorry for the blurry pictures. My camera was being temperamental; but I liked some of the poses so I decided to use the pictures, despite their blurry-ness.

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?

Hi! Today's title comes from "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles.

So I just won a vintage clutch in a giveaway on Twitch Vintage! I'm so excited! I can't wait to style it! I was just thinking that I wanted to get a clutch, and then I found out I won! What an amazing, fantastic coincidence. Robyn of Twitch Vintage is such a nice, stylish person. She has her own eBay store that is bursting with amazing finds. You should definitely check out her blog and store, if you haven't already.

Life's a never ending wheel

Guten Abend! Title's from "Holy Diver" by Dio. I chose it as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio, one of the greatest rock singers ever, who passed away on Sunday after a battle with stomach cancer. RIP Ronnie James Dio.

Hey! So, as you can probably tell, I really like this vest. It's the only thing I own from H&M and I love it. :) These shorts I cut myself (as you can probably tell from the somewhat jagged hem). I've always been a little hesitant to wear these boots with shorts; but I really like the way it looks, especially with the rocker vibe of the rest of the outfit. I may even branch out to wearing these boots with a dress and barelegs. Maybe a floral dress to give it a girly-meets-rocker feel. I think this oufit and similar ones (i.e. different shirt/shorts) is gonna be a go-to look this summer.

I think these are some of my better pictures. The quality's not bad and my posing is improving.

It's the new mother nature takin' over

Hi! Today's title comes from "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature" by The Guess Who.

Today I tackled denim-on-denim. In my opinion, the trick to getting this to work is making sure your shades of denim are different. These shoes are my mom’s (again haha). I’m starting to embrace the clog trend. :)

So I'm having trouble posing. I'm not sure what poses to do and what to do with my face (smile? pout?) Any tips?

To being an us for once instead of a them

Bonjour! Title comes from "La Vie Boheme" from Rent. First off, I'd like to thank everyone who follows and/or comments on my blog. I love and appreciate all of you!!! Thank you for your support!

I really love this outfit. I love the tye-dye and studs on the top. The shoes are actually my mom’s (I raided her closet haha). The bracelet is a bunch of coins from around the world. I’ll try to get a close-up picture of it later.

I don't think I'll ever figure out how to take good pictures with self-timer. Or maybe it's my camera. Oh well, I'll keep trying.

Blogger Spotlight: Sarah from Bad Penny

Well, this is the "special surprise" I promised you - an interview! Sarah from Bad Penny is an amazing girl with great style and a fun personality. I recently had the opportunity to interview her. Read on to find out more about her and definitely check out her blog and online shop.

When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging last summer but I was very green and didn't update much. I started up Bad Penny on blogspot in November 2009 and it has been much more successful. I update almost every day now. (:

When did you get interested in style/fashion and what sparked that interest?
It's hard to pinpoint...I've always swam against the current when it came to fashion. Whether I was wearing striped extensions in my hair or painting my nails black or wearing dresses from the 60s. I feel like I came into my true colors fashion wise around 2008 when I was a sophomore. I idolize people like Janis Joplin, Coco Chanel, Joan Jett, all so different but truly iconic when it comes to fashion. I'm a very independant person and I find it impossible to wear what everyone else does. It's dreadfully boring.

Describe your style in 3 words.
Revolving, Thrifty, Edgy

What are your interests/hobbies (besides fashion)?
I front an indie rock band called Milos Fare (check them out on myspace) and I sing for my school's jazz choir. Music is a huge part of my life and I take it very seriously.

What do you consider key pieces for summer?
Rompers and colorful vintage sundresses are a must! A great pair of vintage shades, strappy sandals, high-waisted shorts, and vests should be abundant in any summer wardrobe.

If you could only take 10 pieces of clothing (including shoes and accesories) with you to a desert island, what would you take?
This is a hard one...
-Big Sunglasses (For obvious reasons)
-Comfortable Sandals
-Floral V-neck tank
-High-waisted shorts
-Floppy Sun hat
-Polka dot Sundress
-Cotton Romper
-A thrifty watch (So as to not lose track of time)
-Comfy Keds
-Waist Belt

If you could switch closets with one person, who would it be and why?
Hmm! I'm going to have to say Jenny Lewis. Not only does she front a band like I do, but she takes an empty suitcase with her when she tours and fills it up from thrift stores across the country as she goes. How cool!

Name your favorite (or favorites):
book: Harry Potters are fantastic. Also love Running with Scissors.
movie: Oh gosh, Sabrina (circa 1958) with Audrey Hepburn is AMAZING. But I really loved The Runaways and I adore Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp.
TV show: Glee!!! I'm a complete Gleek.
color: I'm a huge fan of teal and maroon!

I'm crazy but I get the job done

Aloha! Today's title comes from "Philosophy" by Ben Folds Five.

I recently got this dress and I love it! I love the tribal inspired pattern and ruffle at the top. I apologize for over wearing this cardigan. Ever since I got it about two months ago I haven’t been able to stop finding this it looks great with. It’s just such a great bright color! :)

I really need a pair of black gladiator sandals. I have brown ones, but a good chunk of my closet would look good with black ones.

You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.

Hey! Sorry for not posting in a week. I was just crazy busy. Today's title comes from the new Alice in Wonderland (read on to find out why).

My outfit was inspired by the Mad Hatter from the new Alice in Wonderland. I love how I styled the scarf. It’s tied in a bow, in case you can’t tell in the pictures. It might not seem like it, but it’s actually a fashion risk for me. I have a problem with getting runs in my tights. I always seem to be running out of unripped tights. I had to borrow this pair from my mom.

I really like how this first picture came out. Too bad it's sorta blurry.
