Happy 101 Blog Award

So I received the Happy 101 Blog Award from the lovely Little Garcon. Check her out if you haven't already!

So, here are the top 10 things that make me happy:

1. music-I love everything about it, from making it to going to concerts to the way it can transform your mood.
2. Glee, Project Runway, That Metal Show, The Soup, and Psych-I clumped my favorite shows in one.
3. friends and family-my support group in life. I'd be nothing without them.
4. books-I love to read.
5. crunchy peanut butter-my favorite food. I can eat it plain off a spoon.
6. Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm-the most amazing chapstick ever. I used to have such dry lips, but this chapstick changed that.
7. sales-There's nothing better than getting a good deal. I recently got a dress at Kohl's for $6.80 (it was 90% off). :)
8. NYC-my favorite place. I would love to live there. It's such an amazing, diverse place. Every area of it has it's own unique wonders.
9. boots-I love boots! I have 5 pairs of black boots and I want more.
10. 80's movies-my guilty pleasure. Some of my favorites are The Breakfast Club and 16 Candles.

I'm passing this on to:
Bad Penny
Silhouette Girl
Delightfully Tacky
MesmericOutsider

By the way, sorry for a lack of outfit photos. It's been raining a lot here, eliminating outside shots, and I can't seem to get a good inside picture. Also, I won't be able to post again til Monday or Tuesday. (Hopefully I'll have a picture to post then). Just a heads up.

The lady in red when everyone else is wearing tan

Hey hey good people of the internet! Today's title comes from the The Nanny theme song. I love that show. :)

This outfit is just sorta casual and fun. The shoes, if you can't tell because of the grass, are wedges. Today started out really nice. Then it started raining. Sorry for the less-than-spectacular photo quality. I didn’t have much time (due to the rain) and my camera was acting weird.

Here comes the radiation!

Yo! Today's title is appropriately from the UKZ song "Radiation."

I love this skirt. It's the first vintage thing I ever bought. The shirt I got at UKZ’s first and only concert (They called it a one city world tour haha). The smallest size available at the concert was a large so it’s big on me. I always had trouble wearing it (too big to be a regular shirt, not big enough to be a dress with leggings) until I tried it on with this skirt and loved how it looked.

I got a little picture happy today. I took at least 40 pictures. However, only 8 were good enough for posting because I'm terrible at taking pictures with self-timer. Also, today I learned that it is extremely difficult to take pictures of yourself jumping using self-timer. I ended up taking so many pictures of myself in awkward poses just after I landed.

You may have noticed that I'm only wearing my glasses in one picture. This is because I have transitions lenses that turn into sunglasses outside. They aren't the most flattering sunglasses, so I just took my glasses off when the lenses got dark.

I'm wearing:
-vintage black faux leather skirt from Salvation Army
-UKZ t-shirt from a UKZ concert
-black tights from Kohl's
-black flats from Payless
-Autism Speaks bracelet
-black jelly bracelets from Hot Topic
-various friendship bracelets

Been dazed and confused for so long it's not true

Bonjour! Title is from "Dazed & Confused" by Led Zeppelin.

I wore this yesterday. I really love everything I’m wearing. The shirt is my first ever purchase from Urban Outfitters. I love how the different stripes are put together. These jeans are Tripp NYC jeans from Trash and Vaudeville, an amazing store in the East Village. The shoes are my new black oxfords I mentioned a few posts back. The necklace is made of a pick from a former member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, my favorite band. :)

And the road becomes my bride

Hola! Today's title comes from "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica. \m/ I'd like to give a shout-out to my first follower, Annie! Thanks so much!

Recently, thanks to Daily Candy, I discovered Vanessa Vogel's online store. You're probably thinking, what's so great about that? Well, she has come up with 10 items that all fit in a tote bag and will make 10 outfits. How great is that? I don't know about you, but I always have a hard time packing. I almost always end up bringing too much. Now, with the aid of these 10 handy items, you can carry around a smaller suitcase and not have to worry about over- or under-packing. Here are the items.

The only bad side is how expensive these items are. So, if you're like me and don't have a lot of money, I suggest using these 10 items as a guide as I'm sure similar, cheaper versions are out there somewhere. In fact, I put together a Polyvore of items very similar to the ones pictured and all considerably cheaper.

I seen the needle and the damage done

Guten Abend! Post title is from "The Needle and the Damage Done," originally my Neil Young, but I'm currently listening to James Lewis's version on his new cd Tribute. James Lewis is an amazing singer and a super nice guy. His new cd rocks. Check him out! Here are links to his website and myspace.

Anyway, on to fashion. I really like the way this looks. The dress is actually a skirt that I pulled up and belted. I actually think it looks better as a dress. The bracelet I'm wearing (featured in the second pic) was something I won in a ModCloth contest on St. Patrick's Day. I love it!

This is who you are

Hello again! The title comes from a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) song. TSO is pretty much my favorite band. Yesterday, I saw the them during their first ever spring tour! It was completely amazing! This was my 7th time seeing them live and I always love it! Plus, everyone in the band, besides being incredibly talented, is super nice. Let’s just say, I’m never gonna forget this night. :D

Please ignore the semi-hideous picture.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends!

Hello people of the blog universe! Welcome to my blog! I have a Chictopia account (http://www.chictopia.com/DustInMyWind) and decided to try blogging as well. In case you missed it, the title is a reference to an Emerson, Lake, and Palmer song.

This is what I wore around the house the other day (which explains the lack of jewelry I just noticed). Spring break is amazing! :) I never really put shoes on so I didn’t show my barefeet in the picture. I also wasn’t sure what shoes to wear. I’m dying for a pair of black oxfords. I saw a fantastic pair at a local Salvation Army, but they were 3 sizes too small. :( Alas, the search continues.

I’m wearing:
-black H&M vest
-red tank top with dragonflys on it (hard to see in the pic) from Old Navy
-tan skirt from Kohl’s
